As I’ve been hinting at for a few weeks, I’m happy to announce the launch of the new podcast for Pocket Changed.
The Cubicle Renegade Podcast: Where Unfulfilled Desk Jockeys Become Fearless Entrepreneurs
On the show I’ll be featuring current entrepreneurs, corporate escapees, and world changers who are successfully building businesses that matter.
In this inaugural session of the Cubicle Renegade Podcast I sit down to talk with Joel Runyon, author of The Blog of Impossible Things and the founder of ImpossibleHQ.
We discuss everything from whether or not you should do work based on your passion, why you should wait to release the first product on your blog, and how choosing a niche might actually be the worst way to stand out online.
You can listen or download the podcast on iTunes.
Or you can listen below (or if you are reading this in an email just click here).

Congrats on the new podcast. I’ll look forward to subscribing as soon as it comes to itunes. Great first interview and I look forward to listening to it later today. Look forward to many more to come.
Thanks Aaron. I submitted it first thing this morning, so I’m hoping it is live in iTunes within 24 hours.

Congrats Caleb! Definitely looking forward to this. Should be super educational.
Thanks Justin. Hope you enjoy it.
What a great first episode! Congrats, Caleb!
I loved Joel’s advice about finding a niche. Finally someone who says you can have an overall theme instead of picking a niche. I think “Find a problem to solve” should replace “Find a niche” as the best beginner blogger advice.
It was also great to see how Joel has managed all his projects (how they are kept both together but separate).
Thanks, guys!
Thanks for the kind words.
That was one of my favorite parts too. “Niche” is a bit overused and a theme can be a better angle to take with a blog.
It can bring together a bunch of different projects all under one umbrella.
Well done Caleb! For your first one, it sounded like you’ve been doing it for awhile.
Thanks Benny. After having listened to podcasts for so long I wanted to make sure I sounded comfortable before doing the first one.
Great job Caleb! Loved the questions. I like knowing the background more of how they got to wherever successful people get to a la Joel.
Keep it up bud!
David
Congrats on the launch Caleb!
Congratulation Caleb. Can’t wait for more. Great start with Joel.
Thanks for this interview. I am a follower of Joel’s blog and highly envious of his lifestyle - I want to be like him!
Very interesting and informative.
I really like how you broke down the topics below the podcast. That really helped me jump around and listen to a few parts first. I’m definitely going to end up listening to the whole thing later; really great content. Thanks!
Hi Caleb- congratulations! You have formulated questions that seeks out information and insights that are truly valuable for the listeners. The one that caught my attention before finally listening to the podcast is about finding time to work on side hustles.
I forgot where I got this equation but it’s definitely true: passion + helping others=sure success.
Best regards,
Belinda
