Why Do I Write?

by Caleb Wojcik on December 21, 2010

I want to help people. I want to share what I have learned with the world and reach an audience that would otherwise be unavailable to me without this medium.

Most of what I have learned over the past few years comes from my experience in the “real world” I joined after college. This information isn’t only exclusive to college graduates or young professionals. It should be available to anyone at any stage in their life. I plan to start with posts that will include topics such as goal setting, personal finance principles, increasing productivity, personal development, and life simplification. My focus will always be to help people become better versions of themselves. I recognize that my writing will evolve as time goes on, but I will not lose sight of my purpose.

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
- Harold Whitman

I want my writing to ask important questions and provide some possible answers, but the manner in which someone chooses to live their life is ultimately their own decision. I want to be a guide and mentor to as many people as I can and in as many ways as possible. Whether this is directly through email or indirectly by inspiration, I want to make the world better. I’ll repeat that last part because it is important. I want to make the world better.

This public affirmation is not based on a whim, but rather on passion, motivation, and devotion. I have been inspired to take this first step and I hope that I can do the same for my readers. I need to live my life in a way that I can be proud of and this need far outweighs my fears of financial insecurity. There will always be reservations, hesitations and fears but it is time to put them to the test. I hope my writing will inspire others to put their lives to the test too.

And so begins the first leg of my journey to change lives. Follow along below.
