If you follow Gary Vaynerchuk (author of Crush It, The Thank You Economy, and the upcoming book: Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook: How to Tell Your Story in a Noisy, Social World) you’ve probably heard that he is doing an interview a day this year and I had the pleasure of chatting with him this morning.
In this podcast session we dive into the difference between hustling and just working a lot of hours, work life balance, scaling authenticity and engagement as your audience grows online, why it is never too late to get started, whether or not you should being doing videos online, and even who he wants the New York Jets to draft this weekend.
He also gives a rebuttal to the response he received from his post earlier this week on LinkedIn called “My Best Mistake: Too Much Success“.
My favorite quote from this episode is:
“If you’ve got the content and you find the medium that works for you… the tools don’t matter.” - Gary Vaynerchuk

Shame that the quality is so poor on the Gary side, your side (Caleb) is so clear, I am sure the content was great but I switched off. I have spoken to Gary about this before, its great doing one interview a day, but why not do it via skype and get a decent quality rather than a cellphone in the restroom!

Hey Vince,
Sorry you switched off to due the quality on his side. Logistically I know he was walking through an airport when he did this call, so Skype wasn’t really an option.
I think it turned out pretty well though.
Cheers!
Glad you pushed through your fear, Caleb. Love @GaryVee! After a minute or so, I got used to the sound quality …
Thanks Ellie! And I’m glad the sound quality on his end got bearable.
